Las Vegas/San Francisco - A 19-year-old Norwegian won the world Monopoly championship Thursday after his main opponent from New Zealand went bankrupt by landing on two expensive properties, game maker Hasbro announced. Bjorn Halvard Knappskog won 20,580 dollars in real money for his victory - the equivalent of the bank in the standard Monopoly game.

Knappskog was seeded 16th in the competition and had to overcome three former world champions for his win. In the final game, he played against competitors from the United States, Russia and New Zealand and beat them by building heavily on his properties, allowing him to charge high rent when the other players landed on them. "This was the best game in the tournament for me," said Knappskog. "This is my first professional tournament, and it was fun just to be here. I was really happy to be here whether I won or lost, but I'm also very happy to have won."

The plan is that we want to create a new version for online game. We want to give the users the possibility to join or create a game which will have up to 8 players on it. So here's how we pictured everything.

We will divide the whole game in levels.

Level 1 - everyone will start with $1500 as the original game stated.

Level 2 - everyone will be able to play on level 2 once they win at least 5 games from level one. Wining a game, means that all the money you win at the end of the game remain to you. That way you will be able to raise a small fortune pretty fast. The starting amount for everyone on level 2 will be $5000. Of course all the rents/payouts/prices will be higher

Level 3 - everyone will be able to play on level 3 once they win at least 10 games from level 2. The starting amount will be $15000

Level 4 - everyone will be able to play on level 4 once they win at least 20 games from level 3. Starting amount will be $50000

Level 5 - everyone will be able to play on level 5 once they win at least 30 games from level 4. Starting amount will be $100.000

Level 6 - The final Level. Once you win at least 50 games from level 5 you will be able to play on level 6. Starting amount will be 1 M$

Getting to level 6 brings several advantages to you as a member. First of all will be that you will be able to participate in tournaments. We will talk about tournaments in the next few weeks/months. On October 15th Hasbro sent an open letter to everyone saying that they didn't expected this game to be so big as it is right now, that they expected to have this game up only for 4 months, so they can promote the board game.

This is understandable even if it's a lie. I mean, how can you say something like that when you have google promoting your website, and you make so much publicity. What did you think, that people who will join your game will just take a look and then close their accounts? Especially since this is and addictive game.

Most of the stuffs said there have nothing to do with the bugs available in the game. Maybe they just tried to offer some excuses for the fact that they don't have a powerful development team to assure this game the best functionality. I personally think that the problem with buildings that are built and they don't appear, it's a big problem. I saw that in they FAQ they said that this is a problem they're working on. Ok we can understand that, but it has been more than a month since the game started, and the problem is still there. I have 3 streets, and I can't build more than 400 buildings on any streets, and that's a big problem, especially since these buildings are covering only 50% of my streets.
